Spot a Treasure is a small publishing business based in Quebec, Canada. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you sign up for the hallmark chart or the launch email. It is stored with MailerLite, our email service.
- Order details, if you buy the ebook: your name, email, country, and what you bought. Payhip runs the checkout, and its payment partners handle your card or wallet. We never see your card number.
- Visit statistics: which pages are read and which site or search sent you. We use PostHog, set up so that it places no cookies and stores no ID on your device.
- Emails you send us.
Why
To send what you asked for, to deliver your purchase and any refund, to keep the tax records the law requires, and to learn which pages help readers so we can improve them. We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
MailerLite, Payhip, PostHog, and our host Cloudflare may store information outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Each one is bound by its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Your email stays on the list until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send. Order records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to the person in charge of personal information at Spot a Treasure: hello@spotatreasure.com. We answer within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. If you open the checkout, Payhip may set the cookies it needs to process the payment.
